Fiction
Landing page for my short stories.
I'm not a fan of self publishing, but I'm also very tired of submitting stories to magazines and wait for weeks to be rejected. I could say more about editors who are too busy to even reply. I could talk about the concept of fashion, even in fiction. I mean, 'speculative fiction' is the buzz word of today, yeah, well, if it wasn't speculative it would be published in an academic journal, right? All fiction is speculative. And everybody seems glued to the same 3 or so 'must do' style books.
But enough of that. Here's my short stories. Newest first.
Cheap DNA
In a world pushed to the brink by a changing climate, Aiki’s future takes an unexpected turn when cutting-edge biotechnology enters her life. But some gifts come at a price, and the truth can be more dangerous than the technology itself.

Birds with a Long Name
In a sweltering, near-future Osaka, where technology offers escape from an increasingly inhospitable world, Sayaka is given a chance to test the next generation of immersive virtual reality. But the aftermath of a childhood accident changes everything.

Sulphur Sunset
